How Far Ahead Can You Schedule Posts on Each Network?
Sources checked on October 12, 2026 · 41 sources
It depends on the network, and only half of them publish a figure. According to each network’s own pages, checked on October 12, 2026, LinkedIn’s scheduler reaches 3 months ahead, Instagram’s 30 days, Pinterest’s 30 days, Facebook’s 29 days in Meta Business Suite and TikTok’s 10 days, the last according to a TikTok for Business post first published in 2021; a paid Meta One plan stretches Instagram to 365 days and the Facebook app to 365 days, the second with an eligibility note quoted in the Facebook section. X, Threads, YouTube and Google Business Profile each have a scheduler but publish no maximum, and Bluesky documents no scheduler of its own.
Scheduling windows on ten networks at a glance#
“The network’s own scheduler” means the scheduling built into the network’s app, its site or its official business tool, with no third-party tool in between. The first table says where that scheduler is, how far it reaches and which account it needs. The second says how many posts can wait, what cannot be scheduled and whether you can edit a post once it is scheduled.
| Network | Own scheduler, and where | How far ahead | Account needed |
|---|---|---|---|
| X | Yes, in three tools: X Pro, the Ads composer and Media Studio. The ordinary composer: not described | Not documented | X Pro: Premium+. Media Studio: Premium, not Basic. Ads composer: an ads account |
| Yes, for members and for Pages | Members: 10 minutes to 3 months. Pages: an hour to three months | Members: none stated. Pages: super admin or content admin | |
| Threads | Yes, in the composer’s three-dot menu | Not documented. Meta says only “multiple days in advance” | Not documented |
| Bluesky | None documented | Not applicable | Not applicable |
| Yes: Meta Business Suite for Pages, and the Facebook app for a Page or a profile in pro mode | Meta Business Suite: 20 minutes to 29 days. Facebook app with Meta One: 365 days, on a page that opens by saying year-ahead scheduling “is only available to eligible public Instagram accounts with a Meta One subscription”. Facebook app without it: not documented | Meta Business Suite: Facebook or task access to the Page. 365 days: a Meta One Advanced, Expert or Max plan, and check eligibility first | |
| Yes: the Instagram app and Meta Business Suite | App: 30 days. App with Meta One: 365 days. Meta Business Suite: not documented | App: a public account. 365 days: an eligible public account with Meta One, not available to teens. Meta Business Suite: full control or content permission | |
| TikTok (provisional) | Yes, on the web upload page | 15 minutes to 10 days. TikTok Shop shoppable videos only: 30 minutes to 30 days | The same page says “creators and Business Accounts” and “You’ll need a Business Account” |

| YouTube | Not documented | Not documented. A scheduled video does not publish during a strike’s penalty period | Yes: change the time or publish right away |
| 10 Pins, scheduled one at a time. Whether bulk-uploaded Pins count toward the 10: not documented | Only “standard Pins” are named as schedulable | Partly: the date, title, board, description and link, not the image or video | |
| Google Business Profile | Not documented | Not documented | Before the scheduled time: not documented. After publishing: yes |
“Not documented” means the network’s own pages, read on October 12, 2026, do not say. It does not mean there is no limit. The TikTok rows are provisional: they rest on a TikTok for Business post from 2021 and were not compared with TikTok’s Help Centre, as the TikTok section explains.
This post is about time, not length: for character limits, use the character counter. If a post was scheduled and never went out, that is a separate problem, covered in why a scheduled post fails to publish.
How far in advance can you schedule posts on X?#
X does not publish a maximum. Its Help Center describes scheduling in three tools and gives no window for any of them. The Help Center prints the letter X as its logo, so the quotes below and in the sources spell it out.
- X Pro. “X Pro allows you to schedule posts in advance”, X’s page on X Pro says, and you can view and edit them by adding a Scheduled column. X’s Premium page lists access to X Pro under the heading “Only for Premium+ Tier”.
- The Ads composer. At ads.x.com you can schedule organic and promoted-only posts “within your ads account”, and edit them afterwards.
- Media Studio. According to the Media Studio page, you can schedule one post at a time per account, you cannot edit a scheduled post (you delete it and create a new one), and an error appears “when an account has reached the limit of 1000 draft or scheduled posts”. That is the only count on the X pages read. The Premium page says access to Media Studio “is not available to Basic tier subscribers”.
The ordinary composer on x.com is the gap. X’s “How to Post” article does not mention scheduling. Two other X pages imply it exists: the Media Studio page says “Scheduled posts can be modified on X.com”, and the page on post types says “Currently you cannot save a draft or schedule a longer post on web”. Neither gives a window.
The pages name three things that cannot be scheduled: longer posts, according to X’s Premium how-to page; posts that use conversation settings, in the Ads composer; and Direct Messages, in X Pro.
A figure of 18 months circulates; it is on none of the X pages read for this post.
Postnavo is launching with X: see scheduling X posts with Postnavo.
How far in advance can you schedule LinkedIn posts?#
Up to 3 months, according to LinkedIn Help. Members and Pages have separate help pages, and the two give different minimums.
Personal profiles#
“You can schedule a post between 10 minutes and 3 months from the current time”, LinkedIn’s page for members says. You can enter a specific time instead of one of the 30-minute steps in the dropdown, and “Scheduled times are converted to UTC based on your device’s time zone settings”. Events and Jobs cannot be scheduled. To change a post, the page says to view your scheduled posts, click the More icon, then click “Modify schedule or Edit post”. The page showed “Last updated: 3 days ago” on the day it was read.
Company Pages#
A super admin or a content admin can schedule a Page post “anywhere between an hour from the current time to three months in advance”, according to LinkedIn’s page for Pages, which showed “Last updated: 10 months ago”. For a Page you cannot schedule “events, multiple photos, reshares, polls, jobs, and service posts”. Once a Page post is scheduled, you can still edit its contents, its visibility and who can comment.
So the shortest lead time is 10 minutes for a member and an hour for a Page, and both figures are LinkedIn’s own. How many posts can wait is not documented for either.
Postnavo is launching with LinkedIn profiles and company pages.
How far in advance can you schedule Threads posts?#
Meta does not say. Threads has a scheduler, and no official page read for this post gives its maximum.
- Where it is. The official @threads account posted on January 23, 2025: “Tap the three-dot menu on the composer, then tap Schedule.” Scheduled posts “appear in your drafts folder, where you can edit or delete them”.
- How far. Meta’s newsroom said on August 15, 2024 only that “You can schedule multiple posts a day, multiple days in advance.”
- Replies. Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, said when he announced the test in December 2024 that “Replies cannot be scheduled”. No later official page read for this post repeats or withdraws that.
- Help pages. The Help Center’s page of articles on posting, “Your Threads posts”, lists no article on scheduling, and a Help Center search for “schedule a post on Threads” returned no article on scheduling Threads posts.
- From Meta Business Suite. Meta Business Suite cross-posts to Threads from desktop. Whether a post scheduled there also schedules its Threads copy is not documented.
A figure of 75 days circulates; it is on none of the Meta pages read for this post.
Postnavo is launching with Threads scheduling.
How far in advance can you schedule Bluesky posts?#
Bluesky documents no scheduler of its own, so there is no window to quote.
Bluesky’s blog announced a partnership with Buffer for scheduling on July 30, 2024. The app’s release notes list Drafts in version 1.116.0 (February 4, 2026), and no release from there up to 1.134.0 (October 5, 2026) lists scheduled posts. That range was read through GitHub’s API; you can check it in the full release list, which runs over several pages. The feature request Scheduled Posts, opened on July 22, 2024, is still open. The route Bluesky itself points to is a separate tool, covered in the last section.
Postnavo is launching with Bluesky scheduling. Another post covers auto-posting an RSS feed to Bluesky.
How far in advance can you schedule Facebook posts?#
29 days in Meta Business Suite, or 365 days in the Facebook app with a paid Meta One plan, according to Meta’s help pages. The page that gives 365 days opens with an eligibility note that names Instagram accounts, quoted below.
In Meta Business Suite#
“You can schedule posts to publish between 20 minutes and 29 days away”, Facebook’s help page for Pages says, and Meta’s Business Help Centre carries the same sentence. Scheduled posts “can be created and edited by people with Facebook or task access”, and “All times for scheduling correspond to your current time zone.” You can edit the text, media, link or location of a scheduled post, or move it back to your Page’s drafts. Reels and stories can be scheduled there too, and those pages give no window.
A longer window for Meta Business Suite circulates; it is not on Meta’s own page, which said 29 days on the day it was read.
In the Facebook app with Meta One#
Meta One is new: Meta announced it on September 15, 2026, and its help pages showed “Updated: 3 weeks ago” on the day they were read. According to Meta’s help page, if you have a Page or a profile in pro mode you can schedule posts in the Facebook app, and “With a Meta One plan, you can schedule up to a year (365 days) in advance”, on the Advanced, Expert and Max plans.
The same page opens with a note that names Instagram accounts, not Facebook Pages: “Scheduling posts and reels up to a year in advance is only available to eligible public Instagram accounts with a Meta One subscription. This feature is only available on mobile devices.” The page does not say how that note applies to a Page or a profile in pro mode, so check that your account is eligible before you pay for a plan for a Facebook Page alone.
How far the app reaches without Meta One is not documented. To change a post scheduled this way, the page says to “delete the post and recreate it”.
Postnavo is launching with Facebook Pages.
How far in advance can you schedule Instagram posts?#
30 days in the Instagram app, or 365 days with a paid Meta One plan, according to Instagram’s and Meta’s help pages.
In the Instagram app#
Instagram’s help page covers reels, photos and carousel posts, and sets two conditions: “You must have a public account on Instagram” and “You can schedule up to 25 posts a day, up to 30 days in advance.” It names “product tagging, collaborative posts, sponsored posts and fundraisers” as not compatible with scheduled content. A scheduled post can be deleted, edited, rescheduled or shared now. A longer window and a professional-account requirement circulate; neither is on Instagram’s page.
With Meta One#
“Without a subscription, you can schedule content up to 30 days in advance. With a Meta One plan, you can schedule content up to a year (365 days) in advance”, Meta’s help page says. That needs an eligible public account on the Advanced, Expert or Max plan, and it “is not available to teens”. Stories are separate: in the app, “Only eligible Instagram accounts with a Meta One subscription can schedule stories”, up to 30 days in advance.
From Meta Business Suite#
Meta Business Suite also schedules Instagram posts, reels and stories from desktop, if you have full control of the Instagram account or content permission for it. Its pages give no window for Instagram and mention no subscription for stories. These are two tools with two sets of rules, so the app and Meta Business Suite do not contradict each other.
Postnavo is launching with Instagram posts and Reels.
How far in advance can you schedule TikTok posts?#
10 days, according to a TikTok for Business post from 2021, and this answer is provisional. TikTok’s Help Centre (support.tiktok.com) could not be opened on October 12, 2026, so the figure was not compared with it: check the Help Centre yourself before you plan around 10 days.
The TikTok for Business post, published on July 16, 2021 and modified on July 22, 2025 according to its metadata, says “You can schedule videos anywhere from 15 minutes to 10 days in advance of publishing”, and that the feature is “on the web upload page”. On the account it says two things: the scheduler is for “creators and Business Accounts”, and “You’ll need a Business Account in order to access desktop scheduling.” After scheduling, “you won’t be able to edit the video, captions, or scheduled time”; you delete the scheduled post and upload it again. “The time zone will default to your computer setting.”
A 30-day figure does exist on a TikTok page, for TikTok Shop only. TikTok Shop Academy, dated May 13, 2026, says shoppable videos publish “30 minutes to 30 days later, with up to 50 scheduled videos per account”. For ordinary posts, how many can wait and what cannot be scheduled are not documented in the pages read.
Postnavo is launching with TikTok videos.
How far in advance can you schedule YouTube videos?#
YouTube Help gives no maximum. You pick a date, a time and a time zone, and the video stays private until then.
“You can use scheduled publishing to schedule a private video to go public at a specific time”, YouTube Help says, in YouTube Studio or the YouTube app. The upload page adds: “Your video will be private until that date.” Afterwards “You can change the scheduled publish time or publish the video right away.” One rule to know before you schedule far ahead: “If your account has a Community Guidelines strike, your scheduled video won’t publish during the penalty period.” Posts on your channel can be scheduled too: the page on creating a post says “Click the down arrow next to Post and select Schedule Post.”
Postnavo is launching with YouTube Shorts and videos.
How far in advance can you schedule Pins on Pinterest?#
30 days, with at most 10 Pins waiting, on a business account, according to Pinterest’s help page.
“You can schedule a Pin up to 30 days in advance”, Pinterest’s page on scheduling says, and its page on creating a Pin repeats the figure. “While you can only schedule one Pin at a time, you can have up to 10 Pins scheduled for the future.” Once a Pin is scheduled you can update “the publish date, title, board, description and link”, but not the image or video.
Pinterest’s own pages disagree: the page on Pin performance says “up to two weeks in advance”. The 30 days is the figure on the page about scheduling. Bulk upload takes up to 200 images or videos and schedules any Pin whose publish date is in the future; whether those count toward the 10 is not documented. For the rest, see Pinterest’s scheduling limits in detail.
Postnavo is launching with Pinterest Pins.
How far in advance can you schedule Google Business Profile posts?#
Google Business Profile has a scheduler, and Google’s help page gives no maximum.
Google’s help page says: “If you want to schedule your post to publish at a later time, turn on Schedule this post, then select the date and time you want the post to publish.” For a recurring post, the “Repeats” dropdown offers “weekly, monthly, or a custom schedule”. Two lines on the same page matter when you plan far ahead: “Posts older than 6 months are archived unless a date range is set”, and a post shows as Pending when it is uploading, processing “or your profile is unverified”. Whether you can edit a post before its scheduled time is not documented; the page says “You can edit or delete a post after you publish it.”
Postnavo is launching with Google Business Profile posts.
When a network’s own scheduler stops short#
Every window above belongs to one network and one tool. A plan for the next quarter fits LinkedIn’s scheduler and, with a paid Meta One plan, Meta’s apps; no other network on this list publishes a window that long.
Where a network documents no scheduler at all, the route is a separate tool. For Bluesky that tool is Buffer: Bluesky’s blog announced it, and Buffer’s help page lists “Publishing: Yes” for Bluesky and says “you’ll need to generate an app password in your Bluesky account”. We have not used Buffer. This comes from Bluesky’s blog and Buffer’s help page.
Frequently asked questions#
Can you schedule Instagram or Facebook posts past 30 days?#
The only longer window Meta’s pages document is a paid one. Without a subscription, the Instagram app stops at 30 days and Meta Business Suite at 29 days for Page posts. With a Meta One Advanced, Expert or Max plan, the Instagram and Facebook apps reach 365 days, according to Meta’s help pages, and the help page for the Facebook app carries the eligibility note quoted in the Facebook section. For Meta Business Suite to Instagram and for the Facebook app without Meta One, the window is not documented.
Can you edit a post after you have scheduled it?#
It depends on the tool: the last column of the second table answers for each one, and the three where the answer is no are the Facebook app, X’s Media Studio and, according to TikTok for Business, TikTok, where you delete the post and start again.
Is there a limit on how many posts you can have scheduled at once?#
Two tools publish a count of posts waiting, Pinterest (10 Pins) and X’s Media Studio (1000 draft or scheduled posts), while Instagram caps scheduling at 25 posts a day and gives no total; the rest is in the second table.
Which time zone do scheduled posts use?#
LinkedIn converts the time to UTC from your device’s time zone. Facebook uses “your current time zone”. YouTube asks you to set one. TikTok’s web scheduler “will default to your computer setting”. X’s Media Studio shows its date picker “with your current timezone”. For Instagram, Meta’s page says only that “Suggested times reflect your current time zone”, and which time zone a time you pick yourself uses is not documented. For Threads, Pinterest and Google Business Profile, it is not documented.
Can you schedule Stories ahead of time?#
From Meta Business Suite on desktop, yes, for Facebook and Instagram stories, and that page gives no window. Inside the Instagram app, only with a Meta One subscription, up to 30 days ahead.

[...] If you want to publish your post on a recurring basis, from the “Repeats” dropdown menu, select how often you want your post to show up, such as weekly, monthly, or a custom schedule. [...] Tip: Posts older than 6 months are archived unless a date range is set. [...] You can edit or delete a post after you publish it. [...] Pending: The post doesn't show on Search or Maps.
